Liverpool maritime training venture Seascope signs agreement with a global provider of safety-critical training 3t. Tony McDonough reports
Liverpool maritime training firm Seascope has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global safety truing specialist 3t to provide new industry training programmes.
Seascope was founded by former Labour and Liverpool Community Independents councillor Alfie Hincks, himself a former seaman with more than 40 years’ experience both at sea and ashore.
Operating in both Liverpool and Spain, the business specialises in STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) and GWO (Global Wind Organisation) training courses. It also offers training for superyacht crews.
Offering training for people working in the oil and gas, offshore wind, construction, maritime and utilities sectors, 3t operates both in the UK and overseas.
This MoU will see the two companies collaborate on maritime training in Liverpool and to jointly capitalise on growing demand in the wider UK maritime market.
Tom Hincks, managing director of Seascope, said: 3t’s reputation for innovation and excellence in training delivery complements our mission to provide accessible, high-quality maritime education.
“This partnership will enhance the breadth and quality of training available to our customers and the wider maritime workforce.”

Chief executive Kevin Franklin added: “Liverpool is a key growth area for the maritime industry, and this partnership allows us to bring our expanded capabilities and cutting-edge training solutions to more learners across the UK.
“Together, we’re strengthening the regional skills base and supporting long-term workforce development in the sector.”
