Mechanical and electrical design firm Optimus Facilities wins trio contracts worth a total of £4m that will see it help clients achieve their energy and decarbonisation goals.

Based at Mann Island, close to Liverpool waterfront, Optimus Facilities says these latest deals “cap an exceptional year of business”. One of the new contracts is a 12-month deal that will see it collaborate with Liverpool John Moores University worth £2.5m.

It includes designing and installing high performing systems to meet residual energy demands for the university’s 12-year-old Redmonds Building. It requires significant adjustments to its infrastructure to reduce its carbon footprint.

Works include replacing ventilation systems and fan coil units, alongside integrating advanced BMS controls to optimise performance and completing a full LED lighting upgrade.

Optimus Facilities has worked on several other decarbonisation projects across the North West and has successfully delivered projects across medical centres, government buildings, universities, schools, colleges, and hospitals.

This includes a full mechanical and electrical design and build package for a 420-seat auditorium and a three story medical centre for the NHS.

To help navigate this growth, Optimus Facilities has strengthened its team through the appointment of an estimator, project manager, quantity surveyor and building services apprentice, ensuring the company remains well-equipped to meet growing demand.
