Liverpool Restaurant Week will return for a third year this spring with multiple city centre venues offering special deals. Tony McDonough reports
100 venues took part in Liverpool Restaurant Week in 2025 and the initiative will return for the third year in a row this spring.
From April 18 to 26, outlets across the city centre will offer special deals to download and allow people to try out a variety of cuisines. In 2025 diners downloaded £271,000 worth of offers with 60% of visitors going to three or more venues.
Organised and funded by Liverpool Business Improvement District (BID), Liverpool Restaurant Week launched as an opportunity to cast a spotlight on the restaurants and eateries of Liverpool city centre.
Each venue creates a culinary or drink offer to take part in the week, ranging from £5 to £35. With an urge to explore the city plate by plate, foodies are encouraged to try venues they’ve been to before, sample new cuisine or simply experiment.
Liverpool’s food and drink sector has grown substantially in Liverpool in recent years and now represents 36.7% of the city centre economy. However, venues are currently battling rising costs and restrained consumer spending.
Despite this the latest data on sales, gathered by Beauclair, spend on food and drink increased by 4.1% in Liverpool this year, compared with 2024. In January 2026, spend on food and drink was up 11% compared with 2025.
This sector, which includes accommodation, represents 9.3%, totalling 20,776. Liverpool BID chief executive Bill Addy said: “Liverpool Restaurant Week goes from strength to strength and we are delighted to be able to bring back this celebration to the city.
“It gives a boost to an industry that’s a vital part of our city centre economy, in the midst of what is a tough time for the sector. We have such an incredible range of culinary offers and vibrant venues it is a great opportunity to sample as much as you can.”
