Liverpool sees January surge in white collar job vacancies and salaries

White collar vacancies soared by almost 70% in Liverpool in January with average salaries also rising, new figures reveal.

Using data from its own files, one of the UK’s biggest job sites CV-Library, said the number of advertised vacancies in Liverpool was up 69.4% last month – the third-biggest rise among the UK’s largest cities.

Liverpool also saw average white collar salaries rise by 8.3% in January, offering opportunities for those looking to switch jobs that pay better than their current positions.

Birmingham saw the biggest rise in vacancies during the months – up 69.7%. It was followed by Edinburgh (69.4%), Liverpool, Manchester (69%), Brighton (68.8%), Nottingham (67.2%), London (64.9%), Newcastle (64.8%), Sheffield (64.4%) and Hull (63.1%).

Hull saw the biggest rise in salaries (14%), followed by Liverpool, Edinburgh (4.5%), Nottingham (4.3%) and Sheffield (1.4%).
