There has been a 3.6% rise in white collar job vacancies in Liverpool over the past 12 months, new research shows.
Using data from its own files, CV-Library, one of the biggest job site sites in the UK, showed Liverpool saw the 10th-biggest rise in vacancies out of the major UK cities, a long way behind Glasgow at number one with an increase of 25.7%.
It also showed that average salaries have increased by 1.3% in Liverpool since 2018 and that competition for jobs had lessened, with job applications in the city down by 2.3% from 2018 to 2019. Job vacancy league table:
- Glasgow – job adverts up by 25.7%
- Edinburgh – job adverts up by 20.5%
- Portsmouth – job adverts up by 11%
- Bristol – job adverts up by 10%
- Southampton – job adverts up by 8.3%
- Cardiff – job adverts up by 8%
- Brighton – job adverts up by 6.9%
- Nottingham – job adverts up by 5%
- London – job adverts up by 4.8%
- Liverpool – job adverts up by 3.6%
Lee Biggins, chief executive and founder of CV-Library, said: “Despite severe political and economic uncertainty over the last year, it’s positive to see that the UK jobs market has continued to grow.
