A trainee solicitor who works for In-House Legal Solutions in Liverpool has collected a national award for championing diversity in the legal profession
Liverpool trainee solicitor Shivani Jobanputra has won a Rising Star award for Diversity Change at the Women, Influence & Power in Law UK Awards 2022.
They honour female lawyers who have made a difference in the legal profession over the past 12 months – whether in shaping the law, achieving outstanding results for their clients, being an outstanding jurist or assisting those in need of legal services.
Shivani works for In-House Legal Solutions, a practice launched by husband-and-wife team Brian Noon and Lauren Cannon in 2017. Initially based in the Baltic Triangle, the firm quickly grew and last year relocated to Tempest at 12 Tithebarn Street.
“I am incredibly grateful to have won the Rising Star award for Diversity Change,” said Shivani. “The awards showcase the incredible work the women in our industry do and I am proud to be part of a team at In-House Legal Solutions that champion equality, diversity and inclusion.”
At the same awards, the firm’s co-founder Lauren Cannon was also shortlisted for an Innovative Leader award.
Brian Noon added: “This award couldn’t be more deserved. Shivani came to us as a paralegal, was completely committed from the word go and showed herself to be so talented that we offered her a training contract late last year.
“She is behind many of our diversity and inclusion initiatives and is even involved on a national level on the Law Society’s Ethnic Minority Lawyers Division Committee – to work so selflessly for others is something for which she can be immensely proud.
“To achieve so much in so little time is just incredible, we are so lucky to have her and are excited to see what Shivani sets her sights on next.”
