Liverpool Vision has appointed Ellen Cutler as its new Director of Investment.
She will be charged with directing and managing Liverpool Vision’s strategy and activities in securing new business investment into the city and further developing the reputation of Liverpool as a top international investment location to establish and grow a business.
Inward investment is one of Liverpool Vision’s most essential tasks, so her role will be highly varied and span responsibilities such as; increasing the awareness of Liverpool as a compelling business location; helping to develop the offer that Liverpool can make to potential investors; identifying, securing and retaining overseas and domestic inward investors in Liverpool; working directly with major clients to secure investment into the city and facilitating the growth of existing local businesses.
Her work will also involve harnessing the collective efforts of organisations across the City in promoting Liverpool as a location for investment.
Ellen comes with experience of leading investment programmes in Florida, Scotland and the South-West. Her most recent role was director of investment for Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). The result is that Ellen has wide experience of both influencing corporate decision makers and the processes that can be employed to secure new investment.
Max Steinberg, chief executive of Liverpool Vision, said:
“The director of investment is a key role in the company. As Liverpool Vision focusses even further on inward investment, Ellen’s experience and skills will be invaluable in attracting people to bring business and jobs to the city.
“One of the things that stood out was her experience of working internationally, which is vital to a position like this. I have every confidence that she will immediately build on the momentum that Liverpool has achieved, and am truly delighted to welcome her into the organisation.”
Ellen Cutler said:
“As soon as I saw this role, I knew it was an excellent fit. Liverpool is at such an interesting stage; it has many factors which would entice inward investment, and the eyes of the business world will be on it next year when it again hosts the International Festival for Business.
“There are some major infrastructure and corporate investments already underway in the city and we can build on these and the existing sector strengths of the city to make a compelling investment case. I am extremely excited to get started.”
