MSIF has sponsored Liverpool’s first Sportswoman’s Lunch event, helping to raise £6,773.67 for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

The Liverpool-base business loan and equity provider backed the event, which took place at the 30 St James Street hotel, bringing together more than 130 guests from the professional services industry and entrepreneurs alike.

Clare Brookfield of MSIF was one of the founding three to get the Sportswoman’s Lunch off the ground. She worked alongside Natalie Dye of Bathgate Business Finance and Marena Mondair of DTM Legal.

The idea for the event came to light when the professional trio recognised the lack of corporate events that celebrated the achievements of women, even more so in the sporting industry.

Through dedication to the cause, the Sportswoman’s team expanded, bringing in Natalie Dickson (Brabners) and Ruth Kirby and Louise Molloy (NatWest) to help ensure success of the event.

Olympic Gymnast Beth Tweddle, who is also a patron of Alder Hey and a business owner, delivered an inspirational talk on the day.

The date for the second Sportswoman’s Lunch has already been set for the September 19, 2019. Clare will continue to head the event with support from the team and aims to make 2019’s event even bigger and better than the last.

She said: “I am absolutely thrilled with the success of the event and the generosity for Alder Hey on the day. We have all worked so hard and I know myself that there has been a lot of sleepless nights worrying about how the first event would take off and I couldn’t be happier.”
