Fuel Station – the team behind the diets of celebrities like model Alex Gerrard, Coronation Street’s Michelle Keegan and Geordie Shore star Holly Hagan – have purchased a distribution site to help cope with a surge in demand.
The move comes after the company exceeded its January targets.
The industrial unit, situated in Bootle near the Liverpool docklands, will be used to distribute orders for their health and fitness products. The company, who revealed in December that 63% of its orders come from outside the city, say a total of 12 jobs will be created as a result of acquiring the premises.
Fuel Station have said the 1,500 square foot site will help slicken their operation and speed up the rate it is able to process orders for its healthy juices, snacks and shakes.
The unit, which will be kitted out with company branding, is set to house a kitchen with cooking appliances that will allow the firm to take on wholesale orders. And with the recent backing of NHS Liverpool, it means they now supply products to employees at “Mersey care” – a leading NHS trust in the provision of mental health, addiction services and learning disability care.
Meanwhile the food brand, which specialises in helping people meet their health and fitness targets, has gone from strength to strength since it was founded in 2012.
Former Apprentice candidate Kurt Wilson, who started the company with his brother Jay, believes acquiring the distribution centre shows how far the company has come:
“We’re really excited about the new unit and our expansion. Now we have a wider range of resources, it means we are able to process a higher number of orders more efficiently. It has been a promising start and I am confident 2015 will be a good year.”
