Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation has made three appointments to its senior management team as it bids to increase its engagement with commercial partners.
Greg Woodley joins as director of marketing following three years at Easyjet, where he was a senior business partner responsible for managing the airline’s European commercial partnerships. He previously worked as an integrated healthcare manager at GlaxoSmithKline.
Jack Miller is the charity’s new director of fundraising and arrives from Victim Support, where he was head of fundraising and income generation. He was formerly a fundraising manager at Manchester’s Christie Hospital and was development director for The Community Foundation on Merseyside for six years.
The pair join Ben Blackman, who was recently appointed as director of strategic development following a period as the charity’s interim fundraising director. Blackman’s career includes success in senior management positions in a range of local, regional and national not-for-profit organisations, over a period of 12 years, as well as working more recently in the private sector as a consultant.
Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is the UK’s only lung cancer charity and the Liverpool-based organisation says the trio of key appointments reflect its determination to increase engagement with the region’s business community.
Chief executive Paula Chadwick says:
“All three new directors bring with them a combined wealth of experience gained in both the private and third sectors.
“We are Liverpool’s national charity, with research and support projects all over the country in our battle to tackle the UK’s deadliest cancer killer. It’s crucial that we engage with regional businesses, especially those with national interests, in order that they understand what we are trying to achieve.
“With our reshaped senior management team, we now have a platform to engage confidently with the region’s commercial sector like never before. It’s not all about fundraising, but developing enduring partnerships that help to deliver long-term meaningful change for all involved.”
