Excitement is growing into space age proportions as the 5th annual House of Suarez Vogue Ball fast approaches Liverpool.
This year’s special celebratory event takes place on Saturday 4 October at its new venue, The Rum Warehouse, which forms part of the Titanic Hotel at Liverpool’s iconic Stanley Dock.
Last year’s ‘Gods and Monsters’ Vogue Ball ricocheted between dark scary lands and places beyond the clouds in a decadent and debauched meeting of celestial beings, icons, men and monsters which proved to be a huge sell-out success, the biggest ball to date.
For 2014, the theme is The Space Oddity, and organisers of the multi award-winning Vogue Ball are delighted to announce this year’s key event sponsors who will see the event leap into the future on the biggest scale to date.
Sponsors on-board so far:
Alice Anastasiou Wine Guru;Philip Armstrong; Arts Council; La Vida; LJMU; MDI; Morecrofts; Pushka; Rare; Rum Warehouse; SeenLiverpool; The Element Order; Titanic Hotel; and Urban Calm.
Darren Suarez, Artistic Director of House of Suarez, commented:
“This is a milestone year for the Vogue Ball, our 5th Birthday.
The event and its reputation, both at home and internationally, continues to grow in popularity year on year, which is extremely positive. We have to say a big thank you to our fantastic team of sponsors as, without them, growing the event and building on its success would just not be possible.
“This year’s event will be our biggest and most outrageous show to date – and we’re very much looking forward to our new venue at The Rum Warehouse. Rehearsals are well underway and we looking forward to seeing guests returning to vogue, as well as welcoming those coming to make their vogue debut.”
Now an international sensation, The Vogue Ball in Liverpool is a dance event like no other in the UK – where club culture meets high art; an infamous catwalk spectacle reminiscent of 1970s/80s New York (the home of the Vogue dance style) at its most glamorous.
The heat is on to boldly vogue where no one has vogued before as the very best Vogue teams (known as ‘houses’) battle it out in a fight for ultimate dance supremacy. This year includes House of Brouhaha in their Vogue Ball debut, and returning houses for 2014 include House of Chocolate and House of Cards, with more to be announced.
This year’s Vogue Ball is set to be an Intergalactic expedition only fit for the brave, promising to expand imaginations to the darkest depths of the galaxy for a chilling vogue-age in to the unknown. Journeying through the cosmos, audiences will unearth extra-terrestrial beings and space crusaders all engaging in fierce dance combat on the most messed-up catwalk show in the universe, and remember – in space, no one can hear you scream.
