A Jobs and Apprenticeship Fair will be held in Liverpool city region in mid-September and will include major employers such as Matalan, Serco and McDonalds. Tony McDonough reports
Major employers such as Matalan, Serco and McDonalds will be attending a Liverpool city region jobs fair this month.
St Helens Chamber is hosting the Jobs and Apprenticeship Fair from 11am to 3pm on Thursday, September 16. The venue for the event will be the Mercure Hotel St Helens and it will be aimed at jobseekers or those looking to start their careers. Opportunities will be boosted by employers looking for staff in the run up to Christmas.
Members of St Helens Chamber will be offering apprenticeship opportunities to young people at the fair. Careers advisers will also be on hand to give free and advice. They can also sign attendees up to a range of free short courses to add extra skills to their CVs.

Mike Unsworth, career development manager at St Helens Chamber, said: “We had a fantastic response to the last event, so we’ve decided to repeat the event on a larger scale to hopefully help more people.
“We have a fantastic venue at Mercure Hotel St Helens, and even more employers looking to recruit in the busy run up to Christmas. There’s plenty of opportunities for apprentices looking to start their careers too, and many local businesses are wanting to support young people to get into work.”
