One of the most popular restaurants in Liverpool’s commercial district is set to reopen in October with a whole new look. Tony McDonough reports
For 14 years Restaurant Bar & Grill has been one of the most popular venues in Liverpool’s commercial district and now it is to get a fresh look.
Located in a 200-year-old former bank building in Brunswick Street, Restaurant Bar & Grill has temporarily closed its doors to allow for work to begin on the revamp. It is planned to reopen in mid-October.
Being delivered by restaurant designer, Bernard Carroll of Carroll Design, the refurbishment will look to enhance the restaurant with “contemporary and vibrant new furniture upholstery, statement lighting and wood finishes”.
The 200-cover restaurant has been a popular choice for business lunches, drinks and celebrations for more than 14 years. It is owned and operated by Manchester-based Individual restaurants whose other brands include Gino D’Campo and Piccolino.
General Manager, Kate Keyes, said: “As one of the longest running restaurants in Liverpool’s commercial district, Restaurant Bar & Grill has always enjoyed an incredibly loyal following.
“I am confident guests will approve of our plans to give the venue a beautiful makeover that is befitting of such a glamorous city.
“Investing in the redesign of the restaurant after the challenges brought about by the pandemic is testament to our confidence in the city’s thriving food and drink scene, which is particularly booming around the Castle Street area.”
Featuring seasonal dishes and a raw food bar, the new menu at The Restaurant Bar & Grill promises to “satisfy all tastes”. There will also be a new seasonal drinks menu with cocktails and an extensive list of wines, spirits and beers.
