Construction of a front extension and rooftop terrace at New Brighton’s Marine Point is complete.
The project, which commenced in December 2015 has added an additional 2,466 sq. ft. to Unit 6 at Promenade Estates’ £60m mixed-use leisure scheme in New Brighton, Wirral.
Led by Wirral construction company Trustland, a 1,400 sq. ft. rooftop terrace overlooking Liverpool Bay and the Marine Lake and a 1,066 sq. ft. front extension has been added.
The thriving shopping and leisure complex has tenants including Harry Ramsdens, Pizza Express, Bella Italia, Starbucks and United Kitchen, with leisure facilities such as The Light cinema, Bubbles’ World of Play and the Floral Pavilion.
The works included careful coordination and programming to minimise disruption to current tenants whilst also ensuring the new structure was sympathetically designed to suit the existing complex.
John Carroll, director at Trustland, says:
“This was an exciting project to be part of. The main challenges were to link in the new structure with the existing, and to form new roof openings whilst trying to maintain a degree of weather tightness. The finished project is really spectacular, and one we are delighted to have been a part of.”
Daniel Hynd, director of Promenade Estates, says:
“The extension and alterations to Unit 6 have enhanced the viability of the unit and will play a positive role in the continuing regeneration of New Brighton and attracting even more visitors to Marine Point.”
