National retailer, Matalan, has become the latest big name to support north west fashion and style event – Celebration of Style – after signing a partnership deal. Matalan joins Boodles, Andrew Collinge, Manchester Metropolitan University and Cricket in supporting Celebration of Style, which is set to take place at a selection of hand-picked style venues across Merseyside from 13-15 November.
Bringing together top names from the fashion and beauty industry, including luxury British fashion designer Matthew Williamson, fashion photographer Tim Bret Day and celebrity make-up artist Cassie Lomas, Celebration of Style will welcome some of today’s greatest British style influencers, while inspiring, motivating and mentoring style icons of tomorrow.
Reflecting the growing fashion trend of combining high end labels with high street style, Celebration of Style will provide a platform for Matalan to showcase capsule collections from the likes of Julien Macdonald, D by Damsel in a Dress and Abbey Clancy.
The latest collections from Matalan will be displayed at the stunning Cunard Building (Friday 14 November) to co-incide with the Celebration of Style fashion show, curated by Justine Mills, co-founder of Cricket. At the Celebration of Style fashion show, fashionistas will have the opportunity to see the latest collections from Stella McCartney, Saint Laurent, Matthew Williamson, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Christian Louboutin, Victoria Beckham, Roberto Cavalli, Céline and Lanvin.
As part of Matalan’s partnership with Celebration of Style, the retailer will have a strong presence at the event’s Influence of Style conference, which will take place at The Rum Warehouse at The Titanic Hotel (Friday 14 November).
Members of Matalan’s senior team will join Manchester Metropolitan University Fashion Course Director Caroline Hertz and Owner of Cricket Justine Mills to talk about what it is really like to work in the fashion industry.
The recruitment team at Matalan will also be on hand to meet delegates, including fashion and design students, graduates, bloggers and those already working in the industry. The recruitment team will offer information on the exciting career opportunities at Matalan, from buying and merchandising to marketing and promotion.
Jason Hargreaves, Managing Director at Matalan, is pleased to be involved in Celebration of Style. He said:
“Celebration of Style is set to be the region’s most exciting fashion and style event and as one of the country’s top national retailers, we are absolutely delighted to be on board.
“We are extremely proud of our heritage and roots, which are firmly based in the North West. As we celebrate 30 years in the business by investing in a multi-million pound site in Knowsley, we are thrilled to be supporting an event that will help put the region firmly on the fashion map.”
Denise Harris, Director of Celebration of Style, said:
“It’s great to have Matalan involved in Celebration of Style. The mix of brands taking part really reflects our event programme, which will appeal to anyone with an interest in style, regardless of budget.
“The schedule features exclusive high-end events, such as an intimate dinner with Matthew Williamson at Knowsley Hall and a Cricket fashion show at the Cunard Building – to more accessible activities like the ‘Influence of Style’ exhibition and seminars, where some of the country’s most well respected style influencers will be giving an insight into their industry.”
Celebration of Style will take place at various iconic buildings across Liverpool, including the Liver Building, the Cunard Building, the stunning Knowsley Hall and The Titanic Hotel. The event hub at the stylish Titanic Hotel in Stanley Dock will be the first port of call for Celebration of Style visitors and the place to go to pick up information and event guides.
