Maxwell Hodge appoints eight new Department Managers in a restructure

Merseyside law firm Maxwell Hodge has appointed eight new Department Managers as part of a restructure to drive further expansion.

The firm is continuing its move away from a typical traditional partner led structure by splitting into private client and commercial divisions with eight new Department Managers leading the strategic growth of their teams.

These Department Managers will also be supported by eight new Department Co-ordinators who will handle the operational elements.

This is a continued move away from the traditional partner led structure of a legal firm following Maxwell Hodge’s change to become a limited company last year.

All Department Managers are qualified solicitors:
• Andrea Ashton – head of the Lifetime Planning Department
• Alison Love – head of Residential Conveyancing
• David Wooding – head of Personal Injury and Occupational Disease
• Tim Moulton – head of Clinical Negligence
• Andrew Newton – head of Family law
• John Gorman – head of Company and Commercial Property
• Heather Grant – head of Employment law
• Kristina Stoddern – head of Civil Litigation / Commercial Litigation and Debt Recovery

The new structure ensures that the firm continues to provide a full range of dedicated services for its clients whilst driving growth by giving each department both a strategic and operational head.

The firm’s new management system is led by company directors Claire Banks, Denise Scoular and Simon Leyland, who is the limited company’s Chief Executive Officer.

Simon Leyland said:

“This new structure will give direct benefits to our clients. The creation of the Department Co-ordinators will help streamline operations and further improve our high levels of customer service while our Department Managers will help identify new business opportunities and drive further growth.”

Maxwell Hodge employs 80 staff across its eight offices, stretching from Formby to Wirral, and with a city centre office in Castle Street.
