A Merseyside business specialising in fire safety is expanding its range of courses to help organisations become fully compliant with new regulations.

Wirral-based North West Fire Safety Solutions, which supports a number of organisations with fire safety control, has boosted its range of training courses in fire safety. It wants to raise awareness of how new fire safety rules impact on commercial and residential buildings introduced in the wake of the Grenfell disaster.

North West Fire already provides fire health and safety maintenance works to a number of businesses in the region including Your Housing Group, Legacie Lettings and Liverpool and Sefton YMCA, and is now encouraging more to sign up to its potentially lifesaving training programmes.

Director Neil Oxton said: “It is important that people in workplaces have the necessary training and appropriate skills in fire safety and it is essential that they have a plan in place for fire emergencies.

“We are now expanding our fire training services to give workplaces in the region the lifesaving knowledge that they need. Our courses offer practical steps on making workplaces safer to reduce the risk of fire hazards but also offer information on using fire extinguishers correctly and carrying out risk assessments.

“Critically, we are educating people on new legislation on fire safety and making buildings safe. A lot of this has changed in the wake of the Grenfell disaster. Frankly, too many workplaces are not up to speed on the legislative changes.

“We are now urging businesses in the region to contact us to find out how we can help them with the training services that we offer. We have an expert team that really could make a difference.”
