Later this year the best social enterprises from across Merseyside will be recognised at the Powerful Together Awards.
On Friday October 3, city leaders will gather at Liverpool Town Hall to celebrate the “brightest and best social enterprises in the Liverpool city region”, in a ceremony organised by the Social Enterprise Network.
The event will acknowledge “start-ups, growth-established organisations and all in between” and the remarkable work that social businesses do by using the profit from their goods and services to address social and environmental issues.
Following the success of 2013 leg of the awards, which saw 15 gongs awarded to companies such as The Reader Organisation and KUCk, this year’s event will celebrate against a backdrop of live music and locally-catered food provided by a social enterprise.
Established social enterprise property maintenance company Vivark have been confirmed as head sponsor for the awards this year and director Tony Cahill said:
“These awards are important because they highlight and celebrate the continuing work of the growing social enterprise movement in the UK.
“There are companies out there who are delivering real social value and they deserve to be recognised, so I would encourage all social enterprises to get involved by putting in a nomination. It’s an ideal way of demonstrating the enormous impact social enterprises have on local communities and the economy.”
