Industry professionals and music fans were out in force this week as MD Artist Management and Entertainment Agency launched two brand new bands; The Ambition and EGO.
Miguel Doforo, creative director of MD Productions has established MD Artist Management and Entertainment Agency to identify raw passion and nurture musical talent in the North.
Miguel has been working closely with two Liverpool groups; four-piece indie-pop male group, The Ambition and edgy five piece high energy girl band, EGO.
Teenagers Jack Morton (18), Anthony Brady (18) and twins Scott and Max Mealey (17) formed The Ambition on the back of MD Productions’ Emotions Project. Very early in the rehearsal stage of the project, it was apparent that the boys stood out with their impressive musicianship, vocals and original song writing skills.
The boys agreed to collaborate and The Ambition’s acoustic sound blending indie with pop was perfected alongside their raw, energetic and infectious performance style. Having played at venues all over the UK, The Ambition are most definitely ones to watch as they rapidly build their increasing and excited fan base.
EGO is a fierce five piece girl band, hand-picked by Miguel Doforo. Born out of the success of the three times semi-finalist on Britain’s Got Talent, Reme-Lee Williams (20), Chelsea Farrell (25), Megan Worthington (20), Summer Ditchfield (18) and Jess Grant (20) are strong and sassy dancers who create a fusion of high-octane pop.
The catchy vocals alongside the high-energy routines and urban-edge look are set to bring a powerful performance to the stage, leaving the crowd captivated and wanting more. EGO have been working in the studio with Liverpool songwriter Chelcee Grimes who has recently had commercial success with tracks written for Kylie Minogue and The Saturdays.
Talking about Monday evening’s showcase, Miguel Doforo said:
“2014 has been a really exciting and inspiring year so far, and what better way to bring it to a close than to launch two incredible bands that I am proud to be managing. EGO have worked with me for many years, each of them having been a part of the MD Productions performance story so far.
“The Ambition boys have it all, they are both incredible musicians and performers. The fans are going wild for them, we have been playing gigs all summer at Radio City Cash For Kids Duck Race and World Merit Day at BT Convention Centre, and we have been in the studio recording original music and a few of their own versions of classic tracks, I see a big future for them.”
The future is important for the team at MD Artist Management who experience first-hand the positive transformation that expressive performance can have on young people in Liverpool.
MD Artist Management will donate 20 per cent of its profits to MD in the Community, a social enterprise, which is committed to discovering and developing new talent in the Liverpool City Region.
MD in The Community delivers the Emotions project in partnership with Kids Company with support of The Morgan Foundation.
