Merseyside fashion entrepreneur Mollie-May Cartwright to open pop-up shop for her Caramella brand at Liverpool ONE just six years after starting the venture on her mum’s kitchen table. Tony McDonough reports
Merseyside fashion entrepreneur Mollie-May Cartwright launched her brand Caramella from her mum’s kitchen table in 2017 – now it is to open a city centre pop-up store.
At the time Mollie-May, then still a teenager, was studying for a degree in psychology and working in a part-time job. After taking on a storage unit the business grew and she started working on the venture full-time.
Now Caramella is an established fashion brand with 280,000 followers on Instagram. From its base in Wirral the venture is known for its womens evening wear, loungewear and outerwear.
Mollie May has also introduced her own brand collections that are designed in-house, with sizes ranging from UK6 through to UK18.
Her pop-up store will open in Peter’s Lane in Liverpool ONE on Friday, August 4, and will remain open until Sunday. August 27. Caramella will open at 11am, with the exclusive launch of its end of summer sale.
Shoppers visiting the store will have first access to the sale which will be in-store only and offer up to 90% off. The sale won’t be available online until the following day (Saturday, August 5).
Shoppers can expect new collections as well as Caramella’s best sellers being restocked in the new Liverpool ONE store every day and the option of Click+Collect within an hour.
There will be changing rooms on site and a stylist on hand to provide expert advice. And there will be a £10 sale section with pieces reduced from £100 to just £10.
“I’m so excited to be popping up in Liverpool ONE – this is our biggest customer facing opportunity to date,” said Mollie-May.
“Myself and the team just can’t wait to open the doors in the most fashion forward city in the UK and meet our huge Liverpool customer base in person.
“For six-and-a-half years, we’ve been a predominantly online brand. Having a presence in Liverpool ONE, alongside some monumental brands including Space NK, Reiss and The White Company, is huge for us.”
