A jobs fair will take place in Liverpool on Wednesday and will offer more than 200 hospitality vacancies – it is free to attend but you must pre-register. Tony McDonough reports
A hospitality jobs fair is being held in Liverpool on Wednesday (May 4) with more than 200 vacancies on offer.
Liverpool city region’s bars, restaurants and hotels took a big hit during COVID-19 but with city centre footfall now close to pre-pandemic levels the sector is looking to come roaring back.
Now Jobcentre Plus and members of Liverpool Hospitality have come together to organise a recruitment day. There are hundreds of jobs available at the event taking place on Wednesday, May 4, at Mason’s Hotel in Seel Street from 10am to 2pm.
With a record number of vacancies open across the sector and many businesses experiencing challenges filling these positions, Jobcentre Plus initially reached out to Paul Askew from The Art School to ask members of Liverpool Hospitality to take part in a jobs fair and the response has been fantastic.
He said: “This event is really going to help fill some critical roles in hospitality across the city, and it’s great to see some of the leading names coming together with all of these brilliant positions.
“Hospitality is a wonderful career choice and it can be a lifelong path. At The Art School and across Liverpool there are many amazing opportunities to embark on a career in the sector and be part of something special.
“For me, Liverpool really is the UK’s hospitality city and we hope to see anyone looking for work like this to come to the jobs fair on Wednesday.”
Employers represented art the event include Marriott, Crowne Plaza, Titanic Hotel, EPIC, Holiday Inn, Louvre Hotels, Pulman, Hard Day’s Night, The Sir Thomas, Novotel, Maray, The Art School, Zizzi, Wagamama and The One O’Clock Gun.
Attendance is free but people must pre-register by clicking here.
