Delifonseca is set to present a trio of foodie celebrations this Mother’s Day this weekend.
On Sunday March 15, the award-winning Dockside restaurant will offer delicious treats in the form of a luxury three-course breakfast menu, as well as a specially crafted Mother’s Day Lunch.
For those with an early-rising appetite, breakfast guests will receive a welcome glass of fizz on arrival followed by a special starter of Bircher muesli oats soaked in apple juice topped with fresh berries, nuts, yoghurt and honey. Diners can then choose from a selection of dishes including, smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on toast, eggs florentine and the Delifonseca breakfast with free range breakfast sausage, back bacon rashers, black pudding, egg, mushrooms, tomato, sautéed potatoes and toast.
To fulfill any sweet cravings, a warm croissant with raspberry and vanilla jam and butter will then be served.
Mums opting for the lunch menu can choose from an array of starters such as serrano ham, fig and blue cheese salad; goats cheese bomb with beetroot carpaccio; creamy celeriac soup with truffle oil; or traditional prawn cocktail. The main course selection should tickle the taste buds with highlights including smoked duck breast with pomegranate and walnut salad; lamb and apricot tagine and salmon en croute.
Proprietor Candice Fonseca said:
“This Mother’s Day we are set to host a trio of foodie events to mark the occasion.
“It’s become an annual tradition for our Dockside venue to host a special three course Mother’s Day breakfast, which starts with a glass of bubbly and is the perfect way to kick off the day for mums that need treating.”
The Fonseca’s branch located on Stanley Street will also showcase two special Mother’s Day sittings, ideal for mums, grans and aunts who want to enjoy either an early or late lunch.
To begin the three-course set menu, guests will be treated to a peach bellini or buck’s fizz, followed by an assortment of starters including duck liver & orange parfait with watercress salad and crostini, Fonseca’s prawn and langoustine “cocktail” with Marie Rose sauce and a duo of chargrilled Claremont Farm asparagus topped with crispy duck egg and hollandaise sauce.
Main dishes include roast topside of beef with all the trimmings, pan fried fillet of sea bass with spicy vermicelli and a roasted cherry tomato risotto with basil and tomato butter.
Diners can then indulge in a sweet filled dessert-sharing platter consisting of hot melting chocolate pot with dipping treats, mixed berry frangipane, mini lemon tarts and pink Champagne sorbet.
Candice added:
“For those wanting a family afternoon out, both our Fonseca’s on Stanley Street and Delifonseca Dockside have put together special three course menus that can be leisurely enjoyed by the whole family.
“Mothers tend spend a lot of time feeding the rest of the family so it makes perfect sense to celebrate their role at the centre of the family by spoiling them with a lovely indulgent breakfast or lunch.”
All Mother’s Day celebrations will take place on Sunday, March 15. The Mother’s Day Breakfast at Delifonseca Dockside will begin at 9:30am and is priced at £19.50 per person. The Mother’s Day Lunch at Delifonseca Dockside will take place at 12:30pm and is priced at £24.50 per person.
Mother’s Day at Fonseca’s will feature two sittings – 12:30pm and 3pm – and is priced at £29.95 per person.
