Beverley Smith has been appointed as the new head of clinical negligence for Hampson Hughes, a solicitors that specialises in “no win, no fee” personal injury compensation.
Beverley Smith, drawing from her prior experience with Fletchers Solicitors and 10 years in dealing with civil litigation, is a specialist in clinical negligence claims as well as related areas, such as birth injuries, orthopaedic and spinal injuries, cancer claims, and delay in diagnosis.
Having started her career in a high street firm specialising in all types of civil matters, Beverley quickly qualified and then developed her practice, ultimately being made partner. Past works has seen her representing both claimants and defendants, giving a tactical advantage when it comes to assessing and proactively running her cases. Additionally, Beverley has Higher Rights of Audience and conducts her own advocacy.
Beverley also has experience in dealing with high-profile cases, with several of her claims receiving recent press attention, including a cosmetic claim for a tummy tuck that ended up bursting on a plane. She couples her experience with a well-earned reputation for dynamic case management and creative thinking when pushing cases through to settlement or trial.
Commenting on Beverley’s appointment Paul Hampson, Joint Managing Partner at Hampson Hughes Solicitors, said:
“Beverley’s expertise in dealing with complex clinical negligence claims will be crucial to developing this key practice area. Her experience will make a significant contribution to the team and we’re delighted to have her on board.”
Beverley Smith added:
“I am very proud to join an expanding team that has a drive and determination to pursue cases on behalf of people whose lives have been affected by medical negligence. My background means that I can understand the distressing experiences many of my clients have had and ensure every possible element of their claim is considered. Ensuring a client’s case is dealt with as quickly as possible to get compensation or a rehabilitation package to help them get lives back on track is a fantastic reward and the reason why many of us do this job”.
