A solicitor recognised as a ‘Next Generation Partner’ by independent guide the Legal 500 has set up his own practice in Liverpool and is set to create a number of new jobs.

David Mann, who was a partner at Aaron & Partners in Chester, is launching Mann Roberts Solicitors. The new firm is based at No 1 Mann Island in Liverpool and will principally advise businesses and entrepreneurs.

Frances Mann is the firm’s relationship manager. Frances is focused exclusively on ensuring that the client’s experience is as good as it possibly can be. Further appointments to the firm are “imminent”.

Since qualifying as a solicitor in 2008, Mr Mann has built a reputation advising on complex and high value disputes both in the UK and internationally with a particular emphasis on advising shareholders and partners in owner-managed businesses.

His new venture will provide specialised guidance to specific sectors including construction and engineering, agriculture and energy. He said: “I am hugely excited to launch Mann Roberts Solicitors. We wanted to create a firm that delivers outstanding client service.

“At Mann Roberts, we are able to differentiate ourselves by putting the client experience at the heart of everything we do.  It’s all about setting new standards and exceeding client expectations.”

Mr Mann added Liverpool had “long been a centre of excellence for lawyers, law firms and professional services”. He said: “We are very proud to be headquartered here, so proud in fact that name features in our logo. This city’s great strength is the people who populate it.

“I firmly believe that there is something of a rebalance going on in this country, with the balance of economic power beginning to shift more towards the midlands and north. Liverpool has a leading role to play in that. I could not think of a better place to found our new firm.”

Mann Roberts says it will share the financial risk of litigation with his clients. Mr Mann explained: “If we advise a client that they have a decent case, we will always put our money where our mouth is. We will always risk at least a proportion of our fee on the desired outcome being achieved if we say the client has a good chance of achieving it.”

He also says the firm will never take fees from a client unless it believes it can deliver real value, saying: “ We want to do a great job and deliver value. Litigation is only ever worthwhile if you are going to end up with more value as a result of embarking on it than you had beforehand.”
