New Liverpool city centre bar The Royal Institution is now launching a series of cocktail masterclasses. Tony McDonough reports
A new Liverpool city centre bar is offering a series of masterclasses that will teach people how to make the perfect cocktail.
First opened in 2014, The Royal Institution building in Back Colquitt Street was relaunched as a new cocktail bar in January. It was launched by St Hospitality – the venture behind Castle Street Townhouse and Seel St Venue.
The venue offers three themed rooms reflecting the history of the location. They are The Reading Room, The Habitat room and The Exhibition Room.
Now the bar’s skilled cocktail makers are looking to pass on their skills. Available six days a week from £15 per person, the masterclasses last for two hours and include a welcome drink and two different style cocktails/mocktails.
For Mother’s Day, the Royal Institution has created a dedicated cocktail masterclass for guests and their motherly figure, guardian or friends.
With a welcome drink including the Pink Bellini (mocktail version is with lemonade), guests can celebrate Mother’s Day in style while learning how to mix their favourite tipples.
Jenny Collins of The Royal Institution said: “With a venue steeped in history, having opened in 1814, and receiving its royal charter in 1821, this classic cocktail bar offers outstanding, expertly made cocktails, a talented bar team and is complete with the most beautiful surroundings.
“Our cocktail masterclasses match the rich heritage of the building and sophisticated interior, creating a luxury experience for friends, families and couples alike, but especially a great Mother’s Day treat.”
