A new tapas restaurant will open in Liverpool in November, employing 30 people, and will be located at the same site as a former tapas restaurant. Tony McDonough reports
A new tapas restaurant will open in Queen Square in Liverpool in November – on the site of a previous taps restaurant.
Spanish Restaurant Group, the team behind Tapas Revolution, acquired the Queens Square La Tasca site in 2020. It will be the venue for a new Tapas Revolution outlet that will open ay the beginning of November and will employ 30 people.
Tapas Revolution aims to bring “authentic Spanish tapas”, large sharing plates, sangria & cocktails to the popular location. While the menu will stay true to traditional, authentic tapas, the look and concept is reminiscent of airy, modern day Barcelona or Ibiza.
Offering an all-day dining experience, the 130-seater venue will also feature a “Spanish Terraza” for mor than 100 people to enjoy alfresco dining.
Executive chef Omar Allibhoy, who led the menu development and has appeared on Sunday Brunch, This Morning and Saturday Kitchen, has created a “mouth-watering menu with something for everyone”.
The Liverpool restaurant is the latest in the expansion of the Spanish Restaurant Group, which already operates in Brighton, Bath and Birmingham. It opened its first Tapas Revolution bar and restaurant at Westfield Shepherd’s Bush in 2010.
Omar said: “Since opening the first Tapas Revolution restaurant back in 2010, the brand continues to grow from strength to strength and we’re delighted to now open our tenth restaurant here in Liverpool.
“The opening of the new restaurant provides a welcome boost to the local hospitality sector and we’re truly excited to see what the future holds for Tapas Revolution.”
