A new law firm specialising in serious injury and complex claims is being set up in Liverpool.
Lawyer Richard Edwards has more than 20 years’ experience of dealing with serious injury and complex claims across the UK and overseas. He has represented clients in the High Court, Court of Appeal and the US, achieving multi-million pound settlements.
Richard was named ‘Catastrophic Injury Lawyer of the Year’ at the national Personal Injury Awards and regularly features in Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500.
He is also a solicitor-advocate (Higher Rights Civil), a member of the board of governors at the Expert Witness Institute, a Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and assistant secretary of Liverpool-based amputee charity ACSIL.
Born and brought up in Liverpool, where he still lives today, Edwards completed his training at a city centre firm before moving to Potter Rees Dolan in Manchester, where he became a partner.
He remained at the firm following its acquisition by Hugh James and is now returning to his home city to launch his new practice, Richard Edwards & Co.

“Liverpool has a thriving legal scene and is the perfect location for me to launch a specialist practice. The fact that it’s my home city is certainly a welcome bonus,” he said.
“I have learned a great deal working alongside some of the best solicitors and barristers in the UK during my career and I plan to bring that experience to bear on behalf of clients at Richard Edwards & Co over the coming years.”
Richard, formerly an active member of the Liverpool Law Society Dispute Resolution Committee, added: “It is a really exciting time.
“I’m looking forward to becoming an active part of the Liverpool legal community once again and I’ll certainly do what I can to support the continued growth of the legal sector in my home city.”
