A new business networking group has been set up in Wirral that promises to avoid the “fist-pumping” atmosphere of other organisations and create a more relaxed air.
West Kirby Business Network has been set up by entrepreneurs Lynne Gregory and David Edwards and is aimed at companies and organisations in West Kirby, Caldy, Hoylake, Meols, Newton and Grange.
Little more than a week after its launch WKBN has already attracted more than 90 members from a diverse range of businesses. The first meet-up is planned for May 2 and the founders are already considering how the hub can develop and grow.
Ms Gregory runs a web design and digital consultancy business, stripe virtual services, which also offers project management and design services, while Mr Edwards is a commercial photographer who runs brand design firm, image61.
Between them, they work with clients nationally and internationally but would like to work more with local clients and feel that there may be others with a similar mindset.
“WKBN wants to bring a sense of community back into the work-life balance. Owning a business is no small undertaking, but it should be enjoyable as well,” said Ms Gregory.
“This won’t be a fist-pumping network, more of a relaxed group who are happy to meet up briefly to chat, exchange ideas, experiences and network over a cup of tea or coffee.
