Located in the grounds of world famous children’s hospital, Alder Hey, ‘Mac House’ provides accommodation for the families of seriously ill children at the hospital.
Three chefs from Patak’s, a family empire that is famous for its Indian cuisine, were joined by a team of 10 staff members from across the company, who served up a dinner of bhajis, spring rolls, butter chicken curry, beef in black bean sauce and Chinese vegetables to around 70 families.
Patak’s said: “As a local business, based in Leigh, Patak’s has supported Ronald Macdonald House and seen first-hand the amazing work they do for the families of children receiving treatment at Alder Hey hospital.
“On the back of our fundraising work we were delighted to be asked to host one of their Tuesday night cook-ups and arranged for our wonderful team of development chefs to create a memorable curry feast for all the families currently staying in the house.
“We are delighted to be supporting a charity that does such important and caring work in our local community.”
Mac House fundraising manager, Kate Davis, added: “It was an amazing gesture from Pataks staff to offer their time to our families. It was a great night, and all of our families told us how much they enjoyed the food.
“One group had never tried curry, and gave a thumbs up to the food they sampled. We are delighted to have the corporate support from Pataks, it’s brilliant to see the difference their support makes to our families.”
