A renowned hairdresser from Old Swan has secured a place at the North West Regional Final of the 60th Annual L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2015.
Andrew Joseph Manion, director of AJM Hairdressing, has been handpicked by leading UK hair professionals for the second year running, as a result of his forward-thinking and creative approach to hairstyling and colouring.
During the first stage of the competition, Andrew’s photographic hair portfolio was judged by the hairdressing industry’s most influential names including last year’s winner and X-Factor hairdresser Jamie Stevens, the 2012 title holders Sally and Jamie Brooks, leading session stylist Adam Reed and hairdressing icon Charles Worthington MBE.
Andrew said:
“I’m really proud to have landed a place in the final of such a prestigious hair competition. It gives me the chance to showcase what I’m capable of in front of some of the most sought-after hair experts and stylists from across the country.”
Throughout the Regional Final, which will take place in Manchester on Tuesday, April 14, 60 North West competitors will go head-to-head and create a live model look in just 30 minutes. In order to impress the judges, the hair creations will demonstrate an awareness of A/W 2015/16 trends, whilst displaying innovation and inspiration.
Andrew added:
“It’s such a great achievement to make it to this stage. I hope to create a look that’s going to turn heads, stand out from the rest of the competition and ultimately take me to the Grand Final.
“My aim is combine all of the elements that the judges look for – a great model with styling and make-up that works flawlessly with the cut and colour. The outcome should look effortlessly impressive.”
To conclude this year’s competition, the selected six regional winners will go on to secure a place in the Grand Final held at Battersea Evolution in June 2015. The crowned winner will receive national media exposure and once-in-a-lifetime fashion photo shoots.
