Developer Cosgrove North West has secured planning consent for a £10m hotel in South Liverpool.

Architects Falconer Chester Hall, in association with a team led by J10 Planning, put forward the application on behalf of Cosgrove for the 150-bed hotel in Longman Drive in Speke. The five-storey project is located on a brownfield site.

Stephen Fieldsend, associate director at Falconer Chester Hall, said: “The development will enhance the streetscape and provide an active frontage to Speke Boulevard.  The hotel offers a key amenity that could be utilised by the many industries operating in Speke.

“The design is strong and bold, but with the provision of carefully considered hard and soft landscaping the hotel will sit well within its context and present guests with a pleasant environment to enjoy.”

Steven Cosgrove of Cosgrove added: ““This site provides a prime location on a busy road in to Liverpool city centre, a short drive to key landmarks and leisure facilities in the city centre and also in close proximity to the successful Liverpool John Lennon airport.

“The hotel will create an inclusive environment to cater for a diverse range of users.  We are delighted with the final design and the positive outcome from the planning meeting today.”
