Premium jewellery retailer Monica Vinader signs up for space in the former TopShop store in Liverpool. Tony McDonough reports
Liverpool ONE owner Landsec has struck a deal with premium jewellery retailer Monica Vinader for a new store in the city.
Monica Vinader will occupy a 1,000 sq ft unit in the former TopShop store that fronts onto Church Street and extends into Peters lane. The 68,000 sq ft space is being converted into space for three new boutiques in a developer called Keys Court.
Monica Vinader will take the first unit in this dual-sided arcade with Landsec targeting complementary lifestyle, accessories and fashion brands for the remaining two.
They will join Kiehl’s, L’Occitane and Penhaligon’s in Peter’s Lane. Rob Deacon, director of asset management at Liverpool ONE – Landsec, said: “Monica Vinader is a high quality, highly regarded brand with a very strong following.
“It perfectly sets the tone for the redevelopment of Keys Court. The signing of the brand is also indicative of our commitment to continually evolve Liverpool ONE based on our deep understanding of consumer needs and wants.”
Topshop disappeared from the high street in February 2021 following the collapse of Sir Philip Green’s retail empire Arcadia which also owned Topman, Burton, Dorothy Perkins and Miss Selfridge.
Online retailer Asos swooped in to acquire the Topshop, Topman and Miss Selfridge brands. Topshop merchandise will be available in 32 John Lewis stores, including the outlet at Liverpool ONE, from spring 2026.
Monica Vinader’s signing follows the opening of Anthropologie’s first North West flagship at Liverpool ONE earlier this month.
