Redrow Homes reveal new managing director

John Grime has been appointed from Redrow Home’s Yorkshire division to be the new managing director of the North West.

Grime has two decades of experience in the house-building sector, having joined Redrow’s forward land department as a graduate 22 years ago. He became planning director in 2002, switched to the Yorkshire division in 2008 and was appointed as managing director in 2010.

Grime takes over from Sandy McBride, who left Redrow for Keepmoat in April.

He said:

“Not only am I returning to the patch where I started my Redrow career, I’m also arriving at a very exciting time for the business as we undergo a rapid expansion. The North West division is very important to the group, representing the company’s heartland since it was founded in North Wales 40 years ago.”

“With the housing market on an upward trend, there’s a real opportunity now for a strong period of growth for the division. We’ve got a good supply of land and we have set a target to more than double our turnover over the next three years.”

John Tutte, chief executive of Redrow Group, said:

“John’s vast experience, in-depth knowledge of the industry and extensive contacts in the North West and North Wales make him a valuable asset to the company. I’m sure he will be every bit as successful in this role as he was while at the helm in Yorkshire.”

With headquarters at St David’s Park in Ewloe, Flintshire, the North West division is in charge of developments in Cheshire, North Wales, Merseyside and Greater Manchester. Redrow currently has 14 live sites with a further four due to open during the financial year.
