Developer Redsun has unveiled a 70,000 sq ft development plan that will see the Croft retail park in Wirral extended.
Redsun has acquired a piece of land adjacent to the current estate in Bromborough from Homes England for an undisclosed sum. It has secured planning consent to build four trade counter units and three detached industrial units.
They will include a new drive-through café and a food and drink unit. Ranging from 3,000 sq ft to 24,000 sq ft the units will be available on a freehold or leasehold basis.
Located off the A41 New Chester Road, the Croft retail and leisure park already comprise 450,000 sq ft of space. Brands include Asda, M&S Food, H&M, Next Halfords and Sports Direct. It also includes an Odeon Cinema, Nando’s, KFC, McDonald’s, Costa Coffee, Pure Gym and Buzz Bingo.
Redsun’s site is located next to the current park and the A41. Director Nick Wightman said: “For many years people will have driven past this site and wondered why it hadn’t been developed.

“We’re pleased that our determination has paid off, having finally secured a detailed planning consent to allow us to start construction. Our aim is to appoint a contractor and start on site in early 2023.”
Broadgrove acted as planning consultants for the scheme. Joint agents for the site are Legat Owen and B8 Real Estate. Legat Owen director Mark Diaper said: “We expect there to be strong demand from occupiers seeking a high profile and visible location.
“Early interest and enquiries have been very encouraging, with the drive-through plot already being under offer.”
