Rory Underwood to speak at free Liverpool IoD event

Former England and British Lions rugby union ace Rory Underwood is the guest speaker at the next IoD Liverpool webinar being held on Thursday, April 15.

Now the owner of a team development and performance consultancy business, Rory also spent 18 years as a pilot in the Royal Air Force. He flow more than 3,000 hours on Tornados, Canberras, Hawks and Domines.

During his rugby career, not only did he score a record 49 tries for England (85 caps, 1984-1996) but also won six caps for the British Lions touring Australia (1989) and New Zealand (1993). He also played first class rugby at Leicester Tigers for 14 years.

Rory has worked as a consultant and high profile speaker since 1999. He combines his experience from international sport, the military, extreme human achievement and personal and team development to create processes for individuals, teams and organisations to inspire performance.

He is an experienced facilitator, psychometric profiler and performance coach. Through his business, Wingman, Rory develops the performance of individuals and teams, enhancing the dynamics between teams within organisations and provides a suite of development workshops and programmes. 

The free Iod event, taking place between 9am and 10.30am, will see Rory address the audience before taking questions. People will also have the opportunity to network, virtually, with other attendees.

The session will be presented by IoD Liverpool chair, David Wafer, multi award-winning managing director of Liverpool’s Recruitment Company of the Year, McIver Scott. The business uses psychometric assessments as an integral part of the recruitment process.
