Liverpool’s famous Royal Liver Building has become a hotspot for marriage proposals.
Operators of the RLB360 tour at the building say there have been more than 30 proposals since the attraction opened last year. And staff are bracing themselves for more romantic moments Valentines Day approaches on February 14.
Alex Bower from RLB 360 said: “With the stunning backdrop of the city and beyond and under the watchful eye of Liverpool’s longest standing love birds, Bella and Bertie, the Liver Building really is the perfect proposal spot.
“We’ve witnessed over 30 people popping the question since we opened the tour to the top of the building last year and more and more are now making enquiries. We’re expecting a busy Valentine’s period at the most iconic building in the city.”
The first proposal, between childhood sweethearts Lauren Holloway and Jake Dawson in August 2019, went down in Liverpool history as the first couple to get engaged at the top of the Liver Building since opening to public tours.
“I don’t know who was more shocked, me or the tour guide. I burst into tears, it was absolutely amazing,” said Lauren. After being inundated with romantic questions and private proposal requests RLB360 have created a bespoke proposal package to make your moment as magical as possible.
They are not giving too much away other than to say people will be able to make their first toast of many as a newly engaged couple with the stunning Liverpool backdrop and take away their own personalised keepsake.
