Sainsbury’s say that the company is still committed to the creation of a new supermarket in the region which will contribute to a key regeneration project in north Liverpool.
It is thought that the project will create 1,000 jobs and include a new flagship Sainsbury’s supermarket to be, according to developer St Modwen and Liverpool City Council, the largest supermarket in Liverpool.
The project is also aims to provide approximately 900 free customer car parking spaces, a petrol station, transport improvements to Great Homer Street and enhanced links to Everton Park, as well as a new link road between Great Homer Street and Scotland Road.
