Three staff from leading recruitment firm Scantec, based in Birkenhead, are gearing up to take part in the Euro City Cycling Challenge.
Paul Gibbens, Gareth Knight and Liam Cottrell are cycling over 290 miles to raise money for charity.
The European City Cycling Challenge takes place across three countries, travelling through three of Europe’s major capital cities: London, Amsterdam and Brussels. The challenge will cover approximately 297 miles over the four day cycle route.
In preparation Paul, Gareth and Liam are taking part in all major cycling events across the North West, including the Liverpool to Chester to Liverpool bike ride.
The three cycling enthusiasts are raising money for Macmillan, Claire House and Ronald McDonald House. They are hoping to raise between £3,000 to £4,500 and believe that with the help and support of sponsors, this will be achievable.
Paul Gibbens, client relations director at Scantec said:
“It’s a great opportunity for us to raise some much needed money for three very worthy charities. We hope that with the support of our sponsors, we can make a real difference with the money raised.”
The cycling trio are asking clients for sponsorship of £150 to incorporate client logos onto the team’s cycling clothes. So far Scantec has managed to gain sponsorship from a variety of clients and hopes to see the same enthusiasm as they continue to seek support.
The Euro City Cycling Challenge takes place on 31st August – 4th September 2016.
Paul added:
“We have received great feedback and support from many of our clients and have managed to gain sponsorship from a number of them already. We see it as a tremendous opportunity for all involved and I hope that we continue to receive the same generosity and backing from our clients.”
