A public consultation on a masterplan for for the future is being extended by Sefton Council and local residents are being urged to submit their views

Bootle Strand Shopping Centre is owned by Sefton Council and will form part of the plan

People living in Bootle are being urged to offer their views on an masterplan for the town as the deadline for submissions is extended.

Our Future, Our Bootle is an Area Action Plan which will set out a clear vision for the town for the next 20 years and beyond. Residents are urged to participate in the consultation so that the right strategy can be put in place to deliver for the needs of the community.

Residents now have more time to submit their comments with the consultation deadline extended to Monday, January 31. The Area Action Plan aims to act as a catalyst for further investment in the town, creating more opportunities for local people and businesses.

It will also help to secure the homes that people need and want, help address the challenge of climate change, provide good quality open spaces and facilities, seek local environmental improvements as well as securing job opportunities.

The Issues and Options document can be read online at www.sefton.gov.uk/bootleaap. There you can provide feedback using the online form. You can also provide feedback by emailing bootleaap@sefton.gov.uk or by calling 0808 168 8296, leaving a message and a member of the team will call you back.

Following the close of consultation all feedback received will be reviewed and used to develop the ‘preferred options’. This will be the next stage of consultation which is due to take place later in 2022.

Cllr Ian Maher, Leader of Sefton Council said: “This is a great opportunity to tell the council what you think about Bootle and what you would like to happen in the town. We want as many people as possible to get involved and there are several ways you tell us what you think and help to shape the future of your town.”
