Liverpool Hospitality People Awards aims to highlight the ‘unsung heroes’ of Liverpool city region hospitality sector and the shortlist is now revealed. Tony McDonough reports
Organisers of the Liverpool Hospitality People Awards have published a shortlist ahead of the awards ceremony on Thursday, March 30.
Sponsored by Saffron Vanilla and organised by Liverpool Hospitality, the awards look to shine a spotlight on the “unsung heroes and hardworking teams” who keep the Liverpool city region hospitality sector going in what has been a tough trading environment.
Since early 2020 the sector, a vital part of the city region’s £5bn visitor economy, has been hit by the double whammy of COVID and now soaring energy costs. Recruitment is also a major challenge.
These awards, which will take place at the Titanic Hotel, offer an opportunity for individuals in the industry to come together to celebrate the hard work of their teams in front of their peers and hospitality experts.
They will also be raising money for Hospitality Acton which offers assistance, advice and support to all those who work in hospitality.
Steven Hesketh, vice-chair of Liverpool Hospitality, said: “After an unprecedented period of challenges in the hospitality industry over the past couple of years, it’s incredible to see how the industry has fought back.

“Individuals and teams have worked so tirelessly to help the sector get back on its feet. We’ve been blown away by the amount of entries we’ve had this year, showing how many hard-working and deserving individuals there are in the industry.”
There are 15 categories in the awards spanning across a variety of roles, from customer facing to operational roles. Click here for more information and to book tickets.
Stephen Ramsden, director of Saffron Vanilla, added: “We were blown away by the wide variety and quality of teams and individuals who have been nominated this year.
It once again shows that we as a city region understand the value of our hospitality workers and the need to recognise the people who work in this industry as the talented, skilled and cultured people that we are.
