Signature Living appoint new executive chef to head up culinary division

Matt Cox has held positions with major hotel chains before his move to the Liverpool hotelier and developer

Hotel developer and operator, Signature Living, has appointed former Crowne Plaza cooking chief Matt Cox as its new Executive Chef.

Mr. Cox, who has held senior culinary positions with hotel brands such as the Crowne Plaza, Marriot and the Radisson, will play a huge role in the designing, developing and implementing of menus at the company’s existing restaurants. He will also take control over all food operations in all aspects of the business.

He will manage over 25 chefs across the two venues – implementing changes that will see Signature Living produce over four key menus a year.

Signature Living, which operates established fine dining restaurants Carpathia and The Bastion in Liverpool city centre, made the appointment as it ramps up its efforts to expand across the UK and Europe this year.

Matt Cox, who has been in the cooking business for over 18 years, is delighted to have been appointed. He said:

“It’s great to have joined such a dynamic and exciting company. Being appointed Executive Chef at Signature Living means I will be able to work with a fantastic team of chefs and oversee key menus throughout the year across its accommodation portfolio. It also means I will be able to turn my attention to the other developments intended to open later this year.”

Signature Living co-founder, Katie Kenwright, added:

“Signature Living is committed to recruiting the best in the business. Matt’s unique cooking talent and innovative and irresistible dishes are a welcome addition to our dining offer. He will also help develop our existing chefs so they too can become the very best.”
