Liverpool-based law firm MSB demonstrated agility of both mind and body recently, taking home gold for the men’s and women’s open triathlon at the World Corporate Games 2014.
World Corporate Games
The World Corporate Games is the world’s largest multi-sport festival for businesses and organisations, and brought around one million participants from over sixty cities to Liverpool to compete last month.
MSB shows how it’s done!
Family partner at MSB and keen fitness fanatic Paula Mansfield led the winning team, comprised of MSB staff and clients of the firm. The triathlon, which involved a seven hundred and fifty meter swim, twenty kilometre cycle and five kilometre run was arguably one of the most trying sports on the programme.
Paula said:
“Like so many others who enjoy keeping fit, I like to compete when I can and it goes without saying that I always compete to win. Both Jason and Neil, who were my colleagues in the triathlon, are similarly competitive and I think our determination spurred us onto victory.
“It was just a really great opportunity to have taken part and been able to compete at a high level and against skilled sportsmen and women, but in a non-professional environment.
“I’m delighted that I could represent MSB as the festival came to Liverpool, and to have come out top in our game was just an incredible feeling.”
Managing partner Paul Bibby said:
“It’s fantastic to have seen our team do so well at the games, and particularly poignant that the host city this year was Liverpool, where we have grown and developed as a firm over the past twenty years.
“I can’t commend the team enough for their efforts in representing the firm so well at the event.”
MSB also won at group stage in football earning a place in the quarter finals; and commercial partner Neil Kelly just missed out on a podium placement, coming fifth overall in the over-fifties ten kilometre run.
