The head of Trinity Mirror’s digital business development, Steve Anglesey, has made a move to Local World.
He adopts the position of digital content director and will oversee the company’s “accelerated programme of digital transformation.”
Anglesey has spent over a decade at Trinity after previously editing the Football365 website.
As publisher of Mirror Group Digital he helped double its monthly audience to 42m unique users and was one of the co-founders of the MirrorFootball website.
He said:
“I am delighted to be joining Local World, a company with tremendous assets in terms of people and titles, at such an exciting time.”
“We are looking forward to producing and working with content which users will love to watch, read and share.”
He will report to Local World digital director Matt Kelly, who said:
“Steve is a massive talent with vast experience at the very highest levels of digital publishing.”
“He will play a key role in our accelerated programme of digital transformation within the group.”
Local World, which publishes 107 daily titles including the Hull Daily Mail, appointed a new mobile chief in September.
