Staff at Liverpool-based mechanical and electrical engineering consultancy, Steven Hunt & Associates, will face their fears this year with a trilogy of high-energy challenges to celebrate the firm’s 30th anniversary.

In aid of North West Cancer Research, the team of 22 engineering specialists, will jump out of a plane in a 11,000 ft skydive and take on a gruelling spinathon to cycle 300 miles in less than 12 hours.

Then, to round it all off, they will hike to the finish line with the famous Three Peaks Challenge – tackling 23 miles across the country’s highest mountains, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, in less than 24 hours.

Managing director Steven Hunt said: “It is amazing to think that it has really been three decades. We couldn’t pass this milestone without doing something memorable to mark the occasion, and also to be able to support a great cause in the process.

“The team is busy getting ready for three really tough challenges ahead that will push them all to the limit. But I have every faith in them and I know their team spirit will lead them to triumph.”

Sarah Jones, head of fundraising from North West Cancer Research, added: “We are honoured to be the chosen charity for Steven Hunt & Associates’ 30th anniversary and are blown away by the lengths the team are going to in order to raise much needed donations.

“To take on not one but three challenges is amazing and we are sure they will all do a brilliant job.  We wish them all the very best of luck with each and every challenge.”

All of the charity events will take place after an official anniversary celebration at the city’s St George’s Hall later this year as an opportunity for the company to thank clients and colleagues for their support over the years.
