The Knowsley venue is supporting the Kirkby Christmas Toy Appeal for the third consecutive year, in a bid to help give the gift of Christmas to those less fortunate.
As part of the of the team’s collective efforts to get involved in the charitable scheme, which was set up to provide Christmas gifts for local underprivileged children and young people, the Knowsley venue is acting as a drop-off point for toy donations.
By encouraging guests together with neighbouring businesses to do their bit to help out, staff at the venue hope to excel last year’s contributions so that even more children across the area will have presents to wake up to on Christmas Day.
Sales & Marketing Director at Suites Hotel & Spa Lyndsay Stanistreet Tyer said: “For the last three years we have been involved in the Kirkby Christmas Toy Appeal and this year is no different. With Christmas now just around the corner our office is filling up with toys and gifts to donate to the appeal and there is still time for people to help out.
“The Kirkby Christmas Toy Appeal was started when a Facebook group was set up to help families of Kirkby over the Christmas period. The heart-warming appeal targets the most vulnerable in our community including those with disabilities, those in care, refugees from violence, families who have been burgled or have had other misfortunes that have a devastating effect on their lives.”
Established in 2011, the Kirkby Christmas Toy Appeal donates around 200 gifts to children and their families every year. The group which originally started with 70 members has gone from strength to strength with support of local businesses and residents and now consists of an impressive 2,000 members.
Lyndsay added: “By getting involved in this small act of kindness, people will receive the feel-good factor in knowing that their help and generosity will give children and their families something to smile about on Christmas morning.”
