Trio of Merseyside venues raise a cuppa for Afternoon Tea Week

Afternoon Tea Week is officially underway, and hotels, restaurants and bars across the region are marking the occasion with special deals and offers.

We take a look at three Merseyside venues celebrating Afternoon Tea Week in their own inimitable style.

Leasowe Castle

Leasowe Castle is offering its guests their ‘So Delicious’ Afternoon Tea offering.

Situated within the Wirral Peninsula, the 16th century venue offers an Afternoon Tea menu comprising quintessentially British favourites.

Including a selection of finger sandwiches such as ham, cucumber, smoked salmon & cream cheese and cheese & red onion marmalade.

Sweet treats include scones with whipped sweet cream and a selection of jams, macaroons, lemon sponge cake, chocolate brownie and Victoria sponge cake.

Loose Leaf Teas including English Breakfast and Peppermint are also served, in addition to an option to upgrade with a glass of fizz, a signature cocktail or a glass of Champagne.

Afternoon Tea is available at Leasowe Castle from 12pm-5pm and is priced from £14.95pp, £18.95pp with a glass of fizz, £19.95pp with a selected cocktail and £20.95pp with a glass of Champagne.

Pre-booking is essential with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice.

Suites Hotel & Spa

Suites Hotel & Spa is celebrating all things British with its Afternoon Tea offering.

The Knowsley hotel is offering ‘Traditional’ and ‘Hot’ selections.

‘Suites Traditional Afternoon Tea’ is served with a selection of handmade finger sandwiches, freshly baked fruit scones served with clotted cream and strawberry preserve and an assortment of cakes alongside freshly brewed tea and coffee.

The ‘Suites Signature Hot Afternoon Tea’ includes mini sliders such as The Suites classic cheese burger and The Suites Mexican burger, mini fish & chip cones with mushy peas, salt & pepper chicken pieces and onion rings.

‘Suites Traditional Afternoon Tea’ is priced at £14.95 per person (£19.95 per person with fizz) and ‘Suites Signature Hot Afternoon Tea’ is priced at £14.95 per person.

The Brink

Liverpool dry-bar The Brink will be serving up finger sandwiches including honey and mustard roast ham, butter roast chicken and cream cheese & cucumber, alongside warm seasonal scones with double cream and strawberry jam and a selection of miniature cakes and pastries, all of which are accompanied by English Tea or The Brink’s own house blend coffee.

The Celebration Tea includes all of the above, with the addition of a starter of fresh strawberries and chocolate dip and a ‘Shampagne Cocktail’ (non-alcoholic of course).

Afternoon Tea is priced at £8.50, Celebration Tea is priced at £12.50, Cream Tea is priced at £4.95 and Kids Afternoon Tea is priced at £4.95.
