Liverpool’s Turncoat Distillery has agreed a deal to share Love Lane Brewery’s production facility.

In a strategic move aimed at expanding production capacity and enhancing operational efficiency, Turncoat Distillery will be relocating production to Love Lane Brewery, also based in the city’s Baltic Triangle.

Both businesses have endured battles for survival in recent times. Founded in 2016, Turncoat was revived in February last year by Liverpool entrepreneur, Edward Ridding, after closing down in December 2022.

In January this year Love Lane Brewery was rescued out of administration for the second time in just over a year. Its most recent saviour was TJ Morris Brewing, part of the TJ Morris family empire that owns retail giant Home Bargains.

Turncoat Distillery is best known for its cascade beer hopped gin. This move will allow it to leverage the infrastructure and resources of the Love Lane facility.

“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Love Lane Brewery as we embark on this exciting new chapter for Turncoat,” said Edward Ridding.

“This move not only allows us to streamline our operations but also allows us to offer on-site gin tasting experiences and distillery tours.

“We are confident that this strategic decision will enable us to continue delivering exceptional spirits to our customers while staying true to our roots in Liverpool.

“It also represents a homecoming with Turncoat and Love Lane both having a mutual co-founder.”

Love Lane Brewery is renowned for its award-winning craft beers. Located in the Baltic Triangle, it is equipped with the latest equipment and a “passionate team committed to excellence”.

Managing director Gary Manning added: “We are delighted to welcome Turncoat Gin to Love Lane Brewery. Their commitment to craftsmanship and innovation aligns perfectly with our own values.

“We are excited to work together to create a wonderful experience for all guests here at Love Lane Brewery.”
