UK’s second biggest carnival hits the streets of Liverpool

Liverpool will be treated to an awesome display of carnival revelry this Summer with the unique flavour of Brouhaha International Carnival spreading to more parts of the city and, in fact, the globe than ever before, according to organisers.

Musicians, dancers, circus performers, carnival artists from around the world will again take to the streets for this year’s festival, with new international performances in the city centre and across Liverpool.

International Festival Director, Giles Agis said:

“It’s been a good start overall to Summer. We’ve recently participated in a great weekend at Liverpool’s awesome Mersey River Festival in June with many of our friends from the city’s arts community.

“We’ve got loads of exciting news too about Brouhaha collaborations in Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Cape town, South Africa and Lusaka, Zambia this year, to name just a few!

“Ultimately though, the focus is on our Liverpool International Carnival, which launches on Saturday. Carnival fever on the big day is always a fun-packed, vibrant time for all the family.”

Brouhaha begins at 12 noon on Staurday, 11th July. The main parade starts from Mulberry Street at noon and finishes in Princes Park.
