Velocity Leisure set to open one of Europe’s largest trampoline parks in Wigan

Velocity Leisure is set to open its second trampoline park in Wigan this summer following an impressive £1.5million investment.

Located on Caxton Close, the new site will span across 46,000 sq. ft. making it one of the largest of its kind in Europe.

The venue will become Velocity Leisure’s fourth site in total, adding to its ever-expanding portfolio of ventures within the leisure industry.

Managing Director of Velocity Leisure Steven Cosgrove said:

“When we opened the original Velocity Trampoline Park in Widnes in 2015, we could never have predicted its popularity. Aside from our free-jump passes and regular activities, we are receiving increasingly high demand for our unique children’s parties, which is why my wife and business partner Cheryl and I, decided to begin the search for a second site.

“We chose the venue in Wigan as it is around 19,000 sq. ft. larger than the original Velocity Trampoline Park, so we plan to house more trampolines and soft play areas and continue to host more regular schedules of our popular offerings including fitness classes, Toddler Time and Club Velocity.”

The new site will mirror the branding and ethos of the original Velocity Trampoline Park and will continue to accommodate all visitors no matter of age or ability.

Velocity Leisure began its venture into the leisure industry when it acquired Funtown in 2010 before opening Velocity Trampoline Park in July 2015. Earlier this year, it took over the soft-play centre Spaceworld, located in Prescot.

Steven added:

“Our fourth site brings our total staff count to 160, and it’s wonderful to be able to continue to create jobs in Merseyside. We are thrilled to be opening our fourth venture in the North West and we are already looking at other sites – the future looks very exciting.”

Velocity 2 is set to open in Wigan in Summer 2016.
