Velocity Trampoline Park is encouraging parents across the North West to consider the benefits of regular exercise for their little ones.
Having recently established Toddler Time, an exclusive morning jumping activity for youngsters, managing director of the Widnes-based park Steven Cosgrove believes that staying active is ‘fundamental in the development of young children’.
The bouncing fun also coincides with current guidelines, which recommend that toddlers should take part in 30 minutes planned exercise, together with 60 minutes unstructured ‘free play’ per day.
Steven said:
“Toddler Time is an hour long session that encourages youngsters to play and be active at their own pace for the recommended amount of time. It is certainly a unique way of keeping children fit and healthy without seeming like a chore. As the park is open only to toddlers between walking age and five during the morning sessions, little ones can jump and play at their own speed, ease and comfort level.
“Aside from the obvious fun factor involved, there are numerous health benefits that come with exercising from an early age. Youngsters who participate in regular exercise are known to sleep better, maintain stronger muscles and feel happier. Likewise as a result of increased blood flow throughout the entire body, exercise is a key factor in brain development.”
Located on Bennetts Lane, Velocity Trampoline Park is the largest of its kind in the North West, boasting over 150 trampolines. In addition to the Toddler Time sessions which take place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the park also regularly hosts fitness classes, basketball and dodge ball games and Club Velocity.
Steven added:
“During Toddler Time, youngsters can make full use of our facilities including our free-jump zones and of course, the ever popular soft-play foam pit. Throughout the morning, our dedicated members of staff will be on hand to teach children new tricks and ensure that they are having an enjoyable safe time.
“As our Toddler Time sessions run regularly every week, it means that young children can establish a consistent physical activity schedule, all the while having fun. It’s also a great opportunity for them to interact with one another to build on their social skills ahead of school.”
Toddler Time runs from 10am-11am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during term time only. The sessions are open to toddlers between walking age and five and cost £5 per child – parents/guardians visit free.
